
Madisonville had all five golfers shoot 91 or better and claimed its second straight Girls’ Region 2 golf championship Tuesday at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club.
The Lady Maroons’ team score of 344 was 16 shots better than second-place Daviess County and 18 shots ahead of third-place Hopkinsville.

Kaitlyn Zieba led the Lady Maroons with a score of 79, which was good for second place. Kat Weir shot an 86, and Sydney Browning added a round of 88 that included her first career hole-in-one. Karra Tucker and Stella Knight both shot a 91.
Daviess County was led by Holly Holton’s score of 88.
Hopkinsville finished third led by Cate Blane’s 80. Anna Fort shot an 86, and Audrey Rains added a career-low round of 94. Anna Blane shot a 102, and Ella Lester shot a 119.
Christian County finished 11th led by Riley Johnson’s 98. Hopkins County Central was 13th with Grace Riddle’s 103 leading the way. Dawson Springs was 14th led by Maggie Huddleston’s 92. Fort Campbell was 16th with Abigail Thompson and Matilda Thompson both shooting a 127.
As region champs, Madisonville will play at the state golf tournament next week in Bowling Green
