She did not get to play during her sophomore season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but one Marshall County softball player has gotten to make her college choice. In a Tweet Wednesday morning, Charley Pursley announced that she had given a verbal commitment to Austin Peay State University.
Pursley, who is a junior at Marshall County, saw significant action for the Lady Marshals during her freshman season in 2019.
Pursley played in 40 games in 2019, hitting .369 for Marshall County. She had 3 doubles, one triple, and drove in 17 runs. Pursley was a threat for the Lady Marshals on the basepaths, stealing 22 bases for the season.
