After going winless in its last four matches with three draws and a loss, the Caldwell County boys’ soccer team bounced back in a big way on Thursday night, topping hosts Grayson County 5-2 behind a Blake Vivrette hat trick.
The Tigers put the brakes on a four-game winning streak for the Cougars, improving to 3-2-3 overall. Grayson County had outscored opposition 19-3 during its winning run, and the Tigers’ five goals are the most scored against the Cougars this season.
In addition to Vivrette’s three scores, both Grayden Miller and Ethan Weatherspoon also found the back of the net. Tyler Linton and Haiden Ball each had assists, and Corbin Nichols earned the win in goal.
The Tigers have a week off until they wrap up the regular season with a trip to Graves County.
