To say the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers faced a “gauntlet” during their appearance in the 2020 Quad State Tournament might be a bit of an understatement. The Lady Blazers over the course of the event were paired u up against defending 1st Region champs McCracken County, perennial 3rd Region power Apollo, Logan County, and John Hardin.
The Lady Blazers began their day Saturday with McCracken County. The Lady Mustangs took the match in straight sets, winning 25-8 and 25-19.
UHA’s second match of the day saw them facing off against Apollo. The E-Gals picked up the win by getting past the Lady Blazers in straight sets 25-11 and 25-14.
Up next was John Hardin out of the 5th Region. John Hardin managed to get past the Lady Blazers in straight sets, winning the match 25-19 and 25-14.
The Lady Blazers wrapped up their day Saturday against 4th Region contender Logan County. The Lady Cougars were able to come away with the win over the Lady Blazers 25-18 and 25-18.
UHA is now set to return to action Monday evening when they travel to Owensboro for a return matchup against Apollo.
