A tough trip but some valuable experience headed into the postseason for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels Saturday at the annual Quad State Tournament in Paducah. The Lady Rebels faced three 1st Region teams and one 3rd Region team during the appearance at the event.
The Lady Rebels gave Graves County a tough battle, losing a tight two set to one battle. Todd County Central won the opening set 25-17. The Lady Eagles battled back to take the second set 25-14. In the deciding third set, it came down to the wire, with Graves County finally taking the set, and with it the match, 16-14.
The Lady Rebels were strong at the net with 28 kills recorded in the match. Lucy Chester had 10, Lanie Bivins had nine, and Presley Conquest added five kills.
Addileigh Wofford had 24 helpers and eight digs. Autumn Sears had three aces and eight digs.
Todd County Central lost in straight sets to Paducah Tilghman, but it was a hard-fought two-set battle. The Lady Blue Tornado had to go all the way to 32-30 to win the opening set. Tilghman then closed out the match by winning the second set 25-16.
Lucy Chester had 10 kills and 13 digs for Todd County in addition to three aces. Meredith Drummond also had 11 digs with Addileigh Wofford adding 16 assists.
In a matchup with the 1st Region All A champs, the Lady Rebels fell in straight sets. Ballard Memorial took the match 25-18 and 25-21.
Lucy Chester had 11 kills and three aces for the Lady Rebels. Lanie Bivins added four kills. Meredith Drummond had six digs, and Addileigh Wofford added 17 assists.
The Lady Rebels and Owensboro Catholic battled through a tough three-set match. The first two sets came right down to the wire. The Lady Rebels won the opening set 25-22. The Lady Aces rebounded to take the second set 26-24. O-Cath then rolled through the deciding set 15-6 to close out the match.
Lucy Chester led the way with nine kills, nine digs, and five aces. Lynnlee Jones added six kills for the Lady Rebels, who now stand at 7-8 on the season. They are set to return to action Tuesday when they host Muhlenberg County.
