Crittenden County’s Sammy Greenwell has made the cut at the Leachman GMC-Buick-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Tournament for the second straight year.
It wasn’t easy for Greenwell, who double-bogeyed his final hole of the day under portable lights set up on the ninth hole as his round finished after darkness had fallen. The first round at the Bowling Green Country Club began 90 minutes late due to an early morning fog delay.
Greenwell finished with a 9-over 81, just making the cut. His round included nine pars and two birdies. He is looking to improve on last year’s 47th place finish that saw him shoot even par on day one.
