Region 2 winner Grant Puckett stumbled a bit down the stretch but still managed to shoot 2-over par and make the cut for the second and final day of the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Tournament in Bowling Green Tuesday.
The Webster County senior had two early birdies and made the turn at 2-under par. Two bogeys sandwiched a birdie on No. 11 to keep him at 1-over through 12. Puckett bogeyed three of his final four holes to finish tied for 16th at 2-over and earn a second round on Wednesday at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Puckett’s Webster County teammate Grant Turner struggled on the day to shoot a 124 and miss the cut.
