With no rankings last week, this week’s YSE 2nd Region Boys Soccer becomes the final one of the “interesting” year of 2020. Hopefully, we are able to get all the way through the regional tournament without any more COVID issues. With that said, we enter the postseason with Henderson County atop the final rankings of the year.

- Henderson County (4-1-1) – When the Colonels have been able to get to the field, they have been pretty good. They have lost four matches to the pandemic so far.

– UHA (7-2) – The Blazers sent a statement to the rest of the region with their shutout win over the defending region champs. Only losses have come to 1st Region contenders.

– Madisonville (7-3-1) – The defending region champs were rolling right along until UHA took them to task in a 4-0 shutout win. Still, this is a team that could end up winning the region title.

- Trigg County (5-3-1) – The Wildcats are 3-0-2 in their last five matches. Included in the wins are victories over both Hopkinsville and Christian County. A long way from the season opening loss to Webster.

– Hopkinsville (3-6) – The graduation losses of the last three years have caught up a bit to the Tigers. The thing about inexperience though, is it becomes experience over the course of a season, even in a shortened season.

– Caldwell County (3-2-3) – The Tigers have been in the thick of almost every match they have played this season. That makes for a dangerous team to play in a one-and-done situation.

- Hopkins Central (3-6) – The Storm are not bad defensively, and have solid goalkeeping. The question is can they must offense when they need to at tourney time.
