After a tough five-set loss to Muhlenberg County in the second week of the volleyball season, Todd County Central turned the tables Tuesday and beat the Mustangs in five sets in Elkton. It was Todd Central’s first win over Muhlenberg in 24 career meetings.
Muhlenberg took the first set 25-17 before the Lady Rebels bounced back for a 25-18 win in the second set. Muhlenberg edged Todd 26-24 in the third set and appeared on its way to another win over the Lady Rebels.
Todd scored 25-15 win in the fourth set and claimed the tie-breaker 15-10 for the match win.
Lanie Bivins had a big night for the Lady Rebels. She finished with ten kills and eleven aces. Lucy Chester added nine kills, 29 digs, and two service aces. Presley Conquest chipped in with nine kills and 13 digs.
Todd County Central evened its record at 8-8 on the season and will play in the Central Hardin Queens of the Court event this weekend in Cecilia.
