A late opponent change did little to slow down the Caldwell County volleyball team.
The Lady Tigers defeated Paducah Tilghman in straight sets Tuesday night at the CAB gym in Princeton, 25-11, 25-11, 25-15.
Abby Griggs had 15 kills, four blocks, three digs and two aces while Olivia Mitchell had 11 kills and 19 digs as Caldwell improved to 12-5.
Caldwell was originally set to host Marshall County. But the Lady Marshals had to pull out because of a Covid-19 situation, leaving Caldwell searching for a new opponent.
Tilghman (5-4) also had an opponent drop on Tuesday, giving the Lady Tornado a chance to add the date at Caldwell.
But the Lady Tigers took control of each set early while grabbing the 3-0 decision.
Mary Tays added four kills and nine digs for Caldwell. Kendyll Prowell had 36 set assists, three kills, five digs and three aces.
Kynady Thomas had three kills and three blocks while Savannah Scott had three kills and a block.
Riley Thomas added 18 digs for Caldwell while Adi Sullenger recorded six digs.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to play again on Thursday at Ballard Memorial.
