Todd County Central Outlasts Christian County in Five Sets

The Christian County Lady Colonels and the Todd County Central Lady Rebels went toe-to-toe on the volleyball court in Elkton Tuesday night. When all was said and done, the Lady Rebels had come away with a tough five set win over the Lady Colonels.

Early on in the match it looked as if Todd Central would cruise to an easy win. The Lady Rebels took the opening set 25-19 and then rolled through the second set 25-10 to go up two sets to none in the match.

However, the Christian County Lady Colonels would not go away quite that easy. The Lady Rebels had a chance to put them away in the third set, but the Lady Colonels fought their way through to a 28-26 win to close within two sets to one.

The momentum of the third set win carried through into the 4th set for the Lady Colonels. Christian County took the 4th set 25-16 to even the match up at two sets each.

The Lady Rebels were finally able to reverse the momentum in the fifth and deciding set. Todd County Central pulled out a 15-12 win to close out the match three sets to two.

Macy Baker had a big night at the net for Christian County, finishing with 19 kills. Hailey Sparks added 18 assists for the Lady Colonels.

Todd County Central improves to 9-8 with the win. Christian County falls to 8-10.
