Grant Shrader ran cross country in the eighth grade but took a couple of years off from the sport. Now, the Fort Campbell junior finds himself the leader of the Falcon cross country team in 2020.
Shrader ran a personal best time in finishing 14th at Trigg County’s Fenton Dawson Invitational Oct. 3. He followed that up Saturday with an 18th place finish at the Owensboro FastCats Invitational.
With Fort Campbell placed in Class A this year, both Shrader and the Falcons’ team have a good shot at qualifying for the state cross country meet next month.
