A trio of championship matchups in boys’ district soccer play across the area are set to take place over the next couple of nights. The first championship will be played Wednesday evening with the rest coming up on Thursday.
Wednesday night action will have Madisonville-North Hopkins taking on Hopkins County Central in the 7th District boys’ championship. The Maroons won the regular season contest between the two 3-0 back on September 12. The contest is set for 6pm Wednesday.
On Thursday, the boys’ 8th District title match will take place. University Heights will take on upstart Christian County at 7:30 at Givens Field. Christian County reached the final after upsetting Hopkinsville 3-2 in Tuesday night’s semifinal. UHA won the regular season contest between the two teams 4-0 back on September 21.
In Elkton, the 13th District title match is set for 8pm Thursday, as Russellville will take on Franklin Simpson. The Wildcats roared past the Panthers 8-1 in their September 15th matchup in Russellville.
