Coming off a tough five set loss to Crittenden County on Monday night, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers rebounded nicely Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers put an end to a five match skid with a straight set win over Trigg County.
The Lady Wildcat put up a bit of a fight in the opening set, but Hoptown was eventually able to put things away, taking the set 25-16 to go up one to nothing in the match.
The Lady Tigers then cruised through the second and third sets to close out the match. Hopkinsville won the second set 25-9 and then took the third set 25-8 to close out the sweep.
Averie Turner led the Hopkinsville effort at the net with 8 kills. Alyssa Bearns had a big night with 15 assists. Lauren Watkins chipped in with 11 digs.
With the win, Hopkinsville improved to 4-13 on the season. They are set to close out the regular season Thursday when they host Henderson County.
Trigg County fell to 1-11 on the year. The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to end the regular season Thursday night at Livingston Central.
