Kentucky state girls’ golf champion Macey Brown has been named First Team All-State by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association and Golf House Kentucky.
Brown won the state title last week in a one-hole playoff, becoming the first girls’ golfer from Owensboro to win the state title since 1969.
The junior from Apollo had several top-5 finishes during the season that included wins at the Owensboro City-County Championships and a Region II individual title.
Brown finished fourth in total points behind Marshall County’s Trinity Beth and Savannah Howell and Paul Laurence Dunbar’s Casey Powell.
The All-State Golf First and Second Teams are chosen by points earned in high school invitationals, KGCA All-State Championships, Regionals, and the KHSAA State Championships.
