For the first three years of her high school career, Madisonville-North Hopkins goalkeeper Kara Franklin had to watch Henderson County raise the 2nd-Region girls’ soccer trophy. However, on Thursday it was Franklin and her Lady Maroon teammates celebrating after a 4-3 pk shootout victory gave them a 1-0 win over Henderson in the title match.
Afterward, Franklin talked about her experience and strategy dealing with penalty kicks.
