Less than 24 hours after knocking the UHA Blazers out of the postseason in the 2nd Region boys’ soccer championship game, the Henderson County Colonels were knocked out themselves by a different opponent. Officials with the Henderson County boys soccer team announced Friday afternoon that their entire boys soccer team had been exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 and would have to go into quarantine for 14 days.
What that means from the playoff standpoint is that the Colonels will now have to forfeit their state sectional game which had been set for Saturday afternoon at South Warren.
The Henderson boys soccer team becomes the second team from the school to have to forfeit a postseason game due to quarantine. The Lady Colonels volleyball team had to forfeit the 6th District volleyball championship match earlier this week. However, due to the forfeit being in the championship match, the Lady Colonels are still set to play in the 2nd Region volleyball tournament next week as the 6th District runner-up.
South Warren will now advance on to the state boys soccer quarterfinals.
