Allison Wood will make a third straight trip to the Class 3A State Cross Country Meet as Hopkinsville’s lone qualifier from the region meet.
The Hopkinsville junior finished 15th Saturday at the Region I Meet at Muhlenberg County. She ran the 3.1-mile course in 21:47. Her finish was among the seven best from runners not on qualifying teams which earned her a trip to state.
Eva Blankenberger was Hoptown’s second runner to cross the line. She was 49th in a time of 25:09. Jessie Creamer was 62nd, followed by Rebecca Wood in 66th, Hailey Cordero in 67th, and Emily Bridges in 71st.
McCracken County’s Maggie Aydt, who committed to the University of Kentucky earlier this month, won the race in a time of 18:45.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished 10th with 259 points. Daviess County was the region champion with 21 points.
