Kate Keller, Lady Rockets Making Return Trip to State Meet

Kate Keller is making a return trip to the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet after a second place finish at Saturday’s region meet at Calloway County High School.

The Crittenden County senior, who finished 10th at state last year, came in second place Saturday behind St. Mary seventh-grader Gabby Ault.  Keller ran the 3.1-mile course in a time of 22:44.

Kara Fulkerson was the second Lady Rocket across the line in 11th place in 25:18.  She was five seconds ahead of teammate Ella Geary who was 12th.

Karsyn Potter was 23rd for Crittenden County, followed by Leah Long in 24th, Mary Martinez in 36th, and Jayden Duncan in 39th place.

Crittenden County finished as region runner-up with 55 points.  They were eight points ahead of third-place Murray and 19 points behind region champion Fort Campbell.

For the guys, Rowen Perkins led the Crittenden runners with a 34th place finish in 22:40.  Nate Faith was 37th, followed by Gabriel Keller in 38th, Asa McCord in 43rd, Dennon Wilson in 44th, Kyler Goodwin in 46th, and Cole Swinford in 48th place.

The Rockets finished in seventh place with 186 points.  Dawson Springs won the region title with 34 points.
