Madisonville’s Jackson Hill and Webster County’s Grant Puckett have been named the Co-Region 2 Players of the Year by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association.
Puckett, who has committed to play golf at Brescia University, won the region title and finished 16th at the state tournament, while Hill tied for 29th at the state tourney and was fourth at the region tourney.
Also named to the All-Region Team were James Folz of Hopkinsville; Jiles Wyatt of University Heights; Jakob Wellman of Owensboro Catholic; Nolan Nofsinger of Muhlenberg County; Aaron Munger of Madisonville; Grant Broughton of Daviess County; and Lincoln Smith of Breckinridge County.
Daviess County’s Lars King was named the region coach of the year.
The awards are voted on by member coaches in their own region. The Region Player of the Year is chosen by coaches votes from among the top three players in the region based on the All-State points list from the conclusion of the season.
The Region Coach of the Year is chosen from among all member coaches for that season.
