Lyon County girls’ basketball head coach Jeff Doom was expecting to step down from that post at the end of last season.
However, a 44-43 loss to Trigg County in the 5th District semifinals left Doom feeling like he had unfinished business.
So Doom is back on the Lyon bench for another go-around, and the Lady Lyons are hoping for a deeper playoff run this season.
Lyon is scheduled to open the season at home on Nov. 24 against Dawson Springs, but Doom said the 2020-21 Lady Lyons may be a work in progress, especially early in the season.
YSE spoke with Doom during Lyon’s media day on Wednesday.
