Another football team from Western Kentucky has decided to withdraw from the high school football playoffs. Officials with Russellville High School announced in a social media post that Fulton County had elected to end their football season.
The Pilots and the Panthers had been scheduled to play this Friday night at Rhea Stadium in Russellville. The Panthers won a hard fought 21-20 game between the two earlier in the season.
With Fulton County’s decision, Russellville will now advance to the second round where they will travel to Crittenden County. Crittenden County had been scheduled to take on Caverna this weekend. However, Caverna announced last week that they were withdrawing from the playoffs.
