A member of the Christian County Lady Colonels softball team has decided to continue her athletic career after she graduates in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In a social media post Thursday morning, Christian County junior Madison “Pickle” Winkler gave her verbal commitment to the University of Louisville.
Winkler, who lost her sophomore season to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw action in 36 games as a freshman during the 2019 season for the Lady Colonels. She hit .424 with 2 home runs and 22 RBIs.
She lead Christian County in stolen bases in 2019 with 30. She was also the team leader in at-bats with 125, and base hits with 53.
