State cross country champion Jackson Watts has been named the Area 1 Boys’ Runner of the Year by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Madisonville senior, who has signed to run at the University of Kentucky, won both the region and Class 3A state title in 2020. He also earned 1st Team All-Area and Class 3A Runner of the Year honors.
Drew Burden and Tyler Bruner Deaton were both named 2nd Team All-Area and Class 3A All-Area.
Meanwhile, Joy Alexander was named 1st Team All-Area that encompasses all classes, and to the Class 3A All-Area Team.
