Tandy in Double Figures as Xavier Improves to 5-0

KyKy Tandy came off the bench and hit for double-figures for the fourth time in five games to help Xavier thump Tennessee Tech 77-48 Wednesday in Cincinnati.

Tandy scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in 28 minutes of action. Xavier led 35-21 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for their fifth win in as many games to start the 2020-21 season.

The University Heights Academy alum squared off against former region rival Kenny White, who played at Madisonville High and is the leading scorer for Tennessee Tech as a freshman.  White had 13 points and four rebounds for the Golden Eagles in the loss.  For the season, White is averaging 11 points and three rebounds.  Tech will play at Northern Kentucky Wednesday.

Tandy is averaging 14.8 points and three assists for the Musketeers, who play at Cincinnati Saturday.
