A cold-shooting first half cost Heritage Christian Academy in its 43-17 loss at South Haven Monday in Springfield, Tenn.
The Lady Warriors missed 18 of their first 20 shots in the first half as they fell behind 12-0 after one quarter and 20-5 by halftime.
Kinley Deason scored three straight points to get the Lady Warriors on the board with 5:12 left in the first half.
While HCA shot better in the second half, hitting 7-of-17 from the field, they were done in by 32 turnovers.
The Lady Warriors were strong on the glass, getting outrebounded by the taller Lady Patriots 34-33.
Deason scored nine points to lead the Lady Warriors. She also had six rebounds. Tori Sutton added four points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Abbi Bullock had four points and three rebounds, and Bailey Craft added two points and five rebounds.
Desire White led South Haven with 14 points.
Heritage Christian Academy (0-2) will host a pared-down KCAA Holiday Classic Saturday at Warrior Gym. The Lady Warriors will host Micah Christian at noon. The other game pits Oak Ridge Christian against Community Christian. If HCA wins at noon, they will play in the championship at 6 pm. If they lose at noon, they will play at 4.
