A Marshall County boys soccer player is getting the chance to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level. It was announced Monday afternoon that Marshall goalie Ben Burkeen has signed to play at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
During his senior season at Marshall County, Burkeen gave up only nine goals in sixteen matches for a per match average of 0.6. He finished the season with a total of 50 saves, and ten shutouts.
In his junior season in 2019, Burkeen had 14 shutouts and a goal average of 0.7.
During his two years in goal for the Marshals, Marshall County reached the regional final both seasons, winning the title in 2019.
