Two-time 2nd Region Player of the Year Olivia Mitchell will continue her volleyball career at Georgetown College.
The Caldwell County High School senior announced her decision Friday on social media.
Mitchell, an outside hitter, has been a first-team all-state selection each of the past two years by the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association. She was honorable mention all-state as a sophomore.
Mitchell helped the Lady Tigers win the 2nd Region championship this past season for the first time since 2011. Caldwell lost to McCracken County in the first round of the state tournament.
Mitchell finished her high school career with 1,917 kills, 1,050 digs and 241 aces.
She led Caldwell with 468 kills in 2020 and was second on the team in digs with 237.
The Georgetown volleyball team went 19-13 in the 2019 season. The 2020 season does not begin until January with Mid-South Conference play starting Feb. 15.
