Two Second Region softball players were part of the Louisville Lady Sluggers team that won the Southeast Fast Pitch League Fall Championship in Clearwater, Florida Sunday.
Lyon County senior Calista Collins and Christian County junior Pickle Winkler played on the 18U team that won the tournament on a walk-off grand slam by Belmont-bound Brenna Blume who plays at Gibson Southern, Ind. High School.
The Lady Sluggers rallied to win its final four games Saturday and Sunday after dropping two games Friday.
Collins went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in a 6-2 win Saturday. Winkler stole a pair of bases for the Lady Sluggers Friday and scored a run as part of her weekend.
The Lady Sluggers finished the summer and fall season winning 24 of their final 30 games.
