Lyon County High School will provide free live video streaming for its home boys’ and girls’ basketball games for the 2020-21 basketball season.
The school had originally planned to offer its video at a small price, but Kartik Patel with Keller Williams Realty and Logan Akridge with Akridge Ace Hardware teamed up with the athletics programs to be sponsors for the live streams.
“They are a huge asset to the local community, and their support cannot be overstated,” Lyon County Athletics Director Zach Thomas said.
The streams will be available on the school’s Youtube page and are not associated with the NFHS Network that charges a subscription fee.
Crowd limits due to COVID-19 have most gyms operating at 15-percent capacity for the start of the season. That puts the max capacity for Jason White Gymnasium at around 180 people.
To help allowing more fans to see specific teams, the Fifth District will not be playing any boy/girl doubleheaders during the regular season.
