After the KHSAA Board of Control announced last week that winter sports could begin to practice on December 14 with competition allowed to begin on January 4, the final decision on proceeding with that timeline for athletes in Hopkins County was in the hands of the Hopkins County Board of Education. That decision was handed down Monday evening.
The Hopkins County Board of Education voted Monday night to allow winter sports programs to begin practice Tuesday. The Board also voted to allow Hopkins County athletes to begin winter sports competition in accordance with the KHSAA guidelines on January 4.
Out of season sports in Hopkins County are not allowed to have any activities as of this time.
