Senior WR Reece Jesse and sophomore DB/WR Daisjuan Mercer were both named to the All-WKC 1st Team, highlighting a list of nine Tigers honored. The Tigers finished the season at 7-3, avenging regular-season losses to Calloway County and Logan County on the way to district and region titles and a state semifinal showing.
Jesse repeats as a 1st-Team selection and leaves the Tiger program with school records in catches, yards, and touchdowns. He posted team-highs of 36 catches, 745 yards, and 7 TD in 2020 while averaging just under 75 yards receiving per game in 2020.
After setting a school record with 8 interceptions last season, Daisjuan Mercer excelled on both sides of the ball as a sophomore. He was third on the team with 10 catches for 196 yards and 3 TD, while also rushing for 146 yards on 16 carries with a score. He registered 20 tackles, 2 for loss, with a team-high 3 picks on the defensive side.
The Tigers were also well represented on the 4A All-WKC Team, with four seniors among those honored. Ventrail Baker terrorized opposition on both sides of the ball, running for 192 yards and 4 TDs, while also making a team-high 37 tackles with 5 for loss and a sack. Tahj Manning anchored the defensive line with 22 tackles, 4 for loss, also leading the team with 4 sacks. Alijah Watts finished with 13 tackles, forcing a pair of turnovers and recovering a fumble. WR Ryan Myers was second on the team with 16 catches for 294 yards to go with a pair of touchdowns, while also returning punts and kicks.
Junior Jay’Den Dillard battled through an ankle injury in the postseason but still led the team with 596 yards on 125 carries and 7 touchdowns. Quarterback Treyvon Jefferson started every game for the Tigers, throwing for 1,476 yards with 16 TDs and 8 interceptions.
Freshman kicker Zach Moss rounds out the list after hitting 30/34 PAT attempts and connecting on his only field goal attempt. Moss also handled the punting duties and sparked an early scoring drive with a fake punt in the Tigers’ region-title win over John Hardin.
