Emma Talley is right in the middle of the pack after one round at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida.
Talley carded an even-par 72 in Thursday’s first round and is tied for 36th place in the field of 72 golfers in this week’s LPGA Tour event.
Talley got off to a great start in the opening round. Starting on No. 10, Talley made the turn at 2-under after birdies on Nos. 14 and 15. Another birdie on No. 1 had the former Caldwell County High School and University of Alabama star at 3-under through 10 holes.
However, Talley bogeyed three of the next seven holes before finishing the day with a par on No. 9. That put her at even after 18 holes.
The second round is being played Friday in Florida. Talley will tee off at 9 a.m. Eastern time.
The CME Group Tour Championship is a no-cut tournament, so all 72 golfers will play in the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
Lexi Thompson shot a 7-under 65 on Thursday to hold the first round lead by one stroke.
