Christian County Public Schools has announced its fan guidelines for the start of the basketball and swim seasons at Hopkinsville High and Christian County High for 2021. The start of competition in the winter sports season is set for January 4.
Public Ticket Sales Information:
During the period of Monday, January 4, 2021 – Sunday, January 17, 2021, CCPS Winter Sports game/match tickets will not be sold at any CCPS School Gymnasium door. Players/coaches have priority/access to purchase tickets for the game and only parents/guardians of players will be allowed into the gymnasium for games. Each player is allotted four tickets for parents/guardians. This is a Christian County Public Schools mandate.
Fan Entrance and Exit:
Fans for CCPS Winter Sports will enter at designated doors. Signage will guide attendees to entrance and exit doors. Upon arrival, fans will undergo a temperature screen. If the attendee refuses temperature screening, the attendee shall not access the gymnasium and will be ordered to leave the facility and school campus immediately.
COVID Protocol/Social Distancing/ Wearing of Mask:
Upon entrance to the gymnasium, multiple signage will alert attendees to Mandated Health Guidelines for CCPS Gymnasiums. ALL ATTENDEES MUST WEAR MASKS FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT IN THE GYMNASIUM. Attendees not following this and all other guidelines and rules will be asked to vacate the gymnasium and school campus. Further, attendees in violation of guidelines and rules, shall not be allowed to attend other events at any CCPS Gymnasium. Public address announcements will continually remind attendees of safety guidelines and rules.
Fan Seating:
Fans are to Follow Social Distancing Guidelines; remaining 6 feet apart at all times. Immediate families may sit together, but masks must be worn by all attendees at all times while inside the gymnasium.
Playing Surface, Gym Floor:
Before, during, and after the game, there shall be NO ACCESS to the gymnasium floor. Only Essential Personnel shall access the gymnasium floor and authorities will monitor access points.
Concessions:
All concession food/drink items sold will be pre-packaged.
The Hopkinsville Tigers and Lady Tigers will both open their season on Tuesday, January 5 against Madisonville.
The Christian County Colonels will play their first game at home on Friday, January 8 against South Warren.
The first home girls’ game for Christian County will be Monday, January 18 against Caldwell County.
