Officials with University Heights Academy have announced the attendance policy for the beginning of the winter sports season, which gets rolling Monday evening. The policy was released Tuesday afternoon. Below is the guidance for UHA.
All spectators, visitors, and student athletes will complete a COVID 19 Health Self-Assessment Form and go through a temperature check station upon arrival to competitions. No one will be permitted to enter displaying COVID-19 symptoms or fever.
Spectators:
Basketball—- Spectators will be limited to two tickets per basketball player for home and visiting teams and two tickets for each UHA cheerleader family per game. Others will be turned away.
All spectators must wear a mask upon arrival and during the games.
Visiting team cheerleaders will not be allowed.
Media will be allowed following KHSAA requirements and recommendations.
Upon Arrival – Spectators will go through the ticketing and health/temperature station. All spectators and workers temperatures will be taken. All spectators and workers will complete a self-assessment form at the health/temperature station at the gate.
Family units and those who traveled to the contest in the same vehicle should sit together while the entire group should socially distance from other family groups. The first two rows of the bleachers will remain open.
Only players, coaches, media, and game workers will be allowed on the bench side of the court.
Tickets:
All spectators will be able to purchase tickets at the door. All tickets are $5 a piece (school age to adult). Gates open 30 minutes before game time. UHA Booster passes will be accepted.
Emergency Response – If a spectator, visitor, or student athlete becomes ill during an event, they will be isolated and arrangements will be made for them to the leave the property immediately.
Student Athletes:
UHA students will follow the UHA COVID 19 Decision Tree for school decisions. Once an athlete who tests positive with COVID 19 has cleared, they will follow the “Return to Play” steps as directed by the KHSAA.
Student athletes are encouraged to shower and wash clothing immediately upon returning home from practice or competition.
All student athletes need to bring their own water bottle and supply labeled clearly with their name. No hydration stations will be available. Foods should not be shared. Student athletes are responsible for their own supplies. Visiting teams bring their own water.
Student athletes must wear masks during the event. Only student athletes that are actively playing in the game are allowed to not wear a face covering.
Cheerleaders must wear masks throughout the event.
Coaches:
Coaches must wear masks during the event.
Concessions:
All workers must go through the health/temperature stations upon arrival. The workers must wear masks and gloves. Concessions can sell prepackaged items like candy, chips, and drinks. Popcorn, hotdogs, hamburgers, and sandwiches can be prepackaged by concession workers. All grilled or cooked items must be prepped and wrapped before the gate opens. Open condiments and condiment tables are not allowed. Concession lines should be marked and socially distanced.
