The basketball season for the Christian County Colonels will not start this week as originally planned. Officials with the Christian County Public schools announced Saturday afternoon that due to a positive Covid-19 test, Christian County High School has delayed the beginning of the boys’ basketball season.
In addition to the positive case, a total of 11 players are quarantined under “Safe at School” close contact rules until January 15. Officials say that parents of the affected players have been notified.
Saturday’s announcement means the Colonels boys’ basketball games scheduled for Friday, January 8th, against South Warren, and Tuesday, January 12th, against Hopkinsville will be postponed.
Games scheduled for Saturday, January 9th, against Louisville Male and the Colonels’ trip to Evansville on Friday and Saturday, January 15-16, for the Evansville Harrison Shootout have been canceled.
Christian County students are scheduled to return to classes Wednesday, January 6.
