
Former Caldwell County standout Derrin Boyd poured in 25 points on Monday as his Georgetown Tigers picked up a 79-65 road win at Campbellsville
Georgetown blew the game open behind a 16-2 run to start the second half.
The No. 6 Tigers (7-1 overall, 4-1 Mid-South Conference) held a two-point edge at the break after Rashad Bishop broke a 32-32 tie with the final basket of the first half.
Georgetown outscored Campbellsville 45-33 in the second half.
Boyd was 10 of 14 from the floor and made five of his nine 3-point attempts. He grabbed four rebounds and added three assists, three steals and a blocked shot in over 35 minutes of action.
Boyd, a redshirt freshman, is now averaging 18.1 points a game. He has started the last six contests.
Boyd is shooting 55.4 percent from the floor, 44.4 percent from 3-point range and 82.1 percent at the free throw stripe.
Georgetown plays on the road again on Thursday night when they visit Shawnee State University.
