With two teams that had been scheduled originally to play in the event no longer able to participate due to COVID-19 protocols, and cases continuing to remain high in Christian County, officials with the Christian County Public Schools have announced that this Saturday’s Toyota of Hopkinsville Shootout has been canceled. That announcement came Tuesday morning.
Two teams originally scheduled in the event were not going to be available anyway. Teams from Jefferson County have not been allowed to start competition yet, which eliminated Louisville Male, who was scheduled to play Christian County. The Colonels ended up being unavailable anyway, after it was announced over the weekend that the team was entering quarantine for two weeks after a positive test result in the program.
The games which had still been on the schedule were Lyon County vs Warren Central, UHA vs Marshall County, and Owensboro vs Hopkinsville.
