Trigg County found itself behind early again Tuesday but there was no comeback in the cards as McLean County ran away with a 65-40 win in Calhoun Tuesday.

McLean won by 25 points despite not hitting a single 3-pointer in the contest. The Cougars led 16-7 after one quarter and extended it to 35-17 by halftime.

A 17-10 third quarter advantage by McLean saw them push its lead to 52-27.

Trigg County, who hit ten 3-pointers in Monday’s loss to Marshall County, added four more Tuesday. Trigg rallied from 21 points down in the first half to take the lead in Monday’s opener. They couldn’t duplicate that success again Tuesday.

Brady Dame, McLean County’s lone returning starter from last year’s team that tied a school record with 22 wins, scored 18 of his game-high 26 points in the first half. Jaden Arnold added 13 points.

Jhaden Vaughn led the Wildcats with 15 points, and De’Von Ladd hit three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.

The game was Trigg’s first at McLean County since 1994. The Wildcats fell to 0-4 all-time against McLean.

Trigg County will host Hancock County Saturday.
