Caldwell County’s wrestlers opened the season Thursday night by splitting a pair of dual matches at Calloway County.
The Tigers defeated the host Lakers 48-24 but dropped a 52-21 decision to Paducah Tilghman.
In the win over Calloway, Colin Teutsch (113 pounds), Riley Johnson (132) and Dylan Walls (170) each picked up match wins for the Tigers.
Caldwell’s Logan Brown (106), Timothy Nichols (120), Cofy Walls (126), Jackson Riley (145) and Cole Sherill (220) won by forfeit.
In the loss to Tilghman, Dylan Walls (170) and Colin Walls (182) each picked up wins for the Tigers.
Teutsch (113) and Nichols (120) won by forfeit.
Caldwell County wrestlers will be at Calloway County again Saturday morning for more action. Schools scheduled to compete in the dual-match event are Caldwell, Calloway, Trigg County and McCracken County.
