The opening game of the season for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons basketball has been delayed until at least January 18. In a statement sent to YourSportsEdge.Com, Madisonville principal Adam Harris confimed that a positive COVID test had been confired within the Madisonville-North Hopkins girls basketball program.
Harris added that after consultation with the local health department, all activities within the girls basketball program have been suspended until January 18th. The suspension includes all practices and games.
The Lady Maroons had been scheduled to open their season January 5 against Hopkinsville. Game lost due to the shutdown so far include games against Hopkinsville, Caldwell County, Trigg County, and Hopkins Central.
Madisonville is scheduled to take on Union County January 18.
