A former standout athlete from Paducah has been tabbed to be the new track and field coach at Trigg County High School. Officials announced Thursday afternoon that Jawaun Garrett, who is currently serving as a social studies teacher and girls’ basketball coach at Trigg County Middle School will take over the program for the 2021 season.
Garrett, a native of Paducah, was a three-sport athlete, and a part of state championship track & field teams at Paducah Tilghman High School from 2005-2008.
He also served a stint as assistant track & field coach at Calloway County High School.
