Another week, another turn in the top two for Henderson County and Webster County in this week’s YourSportsEdge.Com Girls’ 2nd Region Basketball “Super 7.” And, for the moment, the defending region champs appear to be the team to beat in the 2nd Region in this “different” season of 2020. There was some shuffling this week, though, in the rest of the list.
– Henderson County (2-0) – A road win at Bowling Green firmly entrenches the northern Lady Colonels at the top of the list for the time being. They look to be in position to string several wins together.
– Webster County (2-5) – The early part of the schedule has been beyond difficult. After losing to Apollo earlier, they came back to get a win over the E-Gals.
– Crittenden County (6-1) – The Lady Rockets picked up the All A Regional championship, then lost a tough game in overtime on the road at Calloway County.
– Hopkinsville (1-0) – Lady Tigers finally get to open the season and come away with a come from behind win over Daviess County. Big one ahead against Christian County.
– Lyon County (3-2) – Lady Lyons two losses have come to Crittenden County. If their offense catches up to their defensive play, they could be a tough out down the road.
– Christian County (0-1) – The southern Lady Colonels had their struggles in a loss at home to Caldwell County. Now that they have a game under their belts, lets see what they do against Hoptown and Apollo.
– Union County (3-3) – The Bravettes routed Madisonville on the road and picked up a win over Owensboro. This team could easily be 5-1 at this point.
