Former Caldwell County football standout Oliver Parker announced on social media Tuesday that his next stop is Murray State University.
Parker was a redshirt freshman wide receiver this past season at Western Kentucky University. He appeared in one game for the Hilltoppers — the regular-season finale at Charlotte — but did not record a reception.
By playing in that one game for WKU, Parker is not eligible at Murray State this spring. Western Kentucky played its season in the fall, but the Racers will conduct what is their “2020” season starting next month.
Murray State will play only Ohio Valley Conference games this season, with games on Sundays, starting Feb. 21 at Southeast Missouri.
Parker will play for new head coach Dean Hood at Murray State.
He joins two other former Tigers with the Racers — quarterback Joby Jaggers and long snapper Mitchell Harralson. Like Parker, Harralson started his college career at Western Kentucky.
Parker had announced on Dec. 30 that he had entered the transfer portal and was leaving WKU.
At Caldwell, Parker is fifth on the career receiving yardage list with 1,829 yards. He is 10th on the all-time receptions list with 106. Parker had 18 touchdown catches with the Tigers.
