As if losing three games in a week by a total of eight points and having your coach ejected in one of those losses was not tough enough, the University Heights Academy Blazers boys’ basketball team hit another bump in the road Tuesday. This issue was thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Just before the Blazers were scheduled to depart for a Tuesday night game at South Warren, they were notified by the Hopkins County Health Department of a potential virus exposure during their game last week at Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Maroons had recently announced that their boys’ team would be going on pause due to virus issues.
What Tuesday’s announcement means for the Blazers is that they will out of action until at least January 26 while the players who saw action in the game against the Maroons go into quarantine.
