In a Friday night battle between two teams looking for a first win of the season, Todd County Central was blitzed early by the host Logan County Cougars on the way to a 61-27 13th-District loss.

The Rebels slip to 0-6 and will face another team still searching for a victory in 2021 when Cloverport travels to Elkton on Saturday afternoon.

Jacob Brandon connected on a 3-pointer to give the Rebels a 3-2 edge inside the first two minutes, but Logan County answered with a run to put the game away.  Anthony Woodard erupted for 13 first-quarter points, including three 3-pointers, and the Cougars used a 19-3 landslide to lead 21-6 after one.

A Woodard steal and dunk make it 32-8 and forced a Todd Central timeout with 2:03 left in the half, but it was Blake Wood that did most of the damage in the second quarter.  Wood drained three of his seven 3-pointers in the frame, including a buzzer-beater for a 40-11 halftime advantage.

Woodard and Wood continued their hot shooting in the third, with Wood drilling two more from deep and Woodard adding 7 points.  Preston Moore scored 5 points in the third for the Rebels, but they only posted 10 as a team.

With a running clock and many of each team’s starters on the bench, only 10 points were scored in the fourth for the final 34-point margin.
