Dawson’s Landon Pace Tops 1,000, But Russellville Prevails 80-77

It was another big night for Dawson Springs senior guard Landon Pace.

Pace poured in 35 points against Russellville just two nights after hitting for 40 against Trigg County, and topped 1,000 career points.

But Russellville got out of Panther Gym with an 80-77 triumph Monday night.

Russellville got a more balanced offensive attack, placing five players in double figures in the victory.
Jaquis Todd led the visiting Panthers with 20 points while Jackson Hampton and Chevis Elliott each had 15. Layne Steele scored 11 points and Jovari Gamble had 10.

Russellville (4-3) led 18-13 after one period, but saw the host Panthers go up 35-33 at halftime.

Dawson (0-2) took a 58-57 advantage to the final frame before Russellville came back to claim the three-point decision.

Pace netted 22 of his 35 points in the second half. He now has 1,029 career points.

Dilyn Skinner added 16 for Dawson Springs while Austin Skinner added 12.
