One thing so far is clear in this “different” basketball season. That being that even in a difficult year, impacted by a once in a century pandemic, some things don’t ever change. So far, it appears that Henderson County will once again be the team to beat in the girls’ 2nd Region tournament when we get there. In the meantime, the Lady Colonels from “the north” are once again at the top of the YourSportsEdge.Com 2nd Region Girls’ Basketball Super 7.

1 – Henderson County (4-1) – The northern Lady Colonels dropped a tough road game at Graves County, but rebounded by blasting Owensboro and Muhlenberg County.

2 – Webster County (2-5) – The Lady Trojans entered COVID protocol and will be out of action until the first week of February.

3 – Crittenden County (7-2) – The Lady Rockets dropped a road game at McLean County and then struggled to beat Trigg County at home.

4 – Christian County (2-1) – After losing their season opener to Caldwell County, the Lady Colonels have rebounded with double-digit wins over Hopkinsville at home and Lyon County on the road.

5. Trigg County (5-4) – The Lady Wildcats had won five in a row before dropping a tough one-point decision Tuesday night on the road at Crittenden County.

6 – Lyon County (5-4) – The Lady Lyons picked up wins over Tilghman and Livingston Central, but also had home losses to Christian County and McLean County.

7 – Union County (4-3) – The Bravettes are now on a three-game winning streak after an easy road win Tuesday night at University Heights. A big one with Henderson County coming up Friday.
