
A huge second period turned the tide for Union County Tuesday night at Dawson Springs.
Down 13-9 to the host Panthers after 1 quarter, the Braves used a 31-17 advantage in the second quarter to get to halftime with a 40-30 advantage.
Dawson (0-3) got within 57-52 through three quarters and was within striking distance until late in the game before Union (7-4) got out of town with a 77-68 triumph.
Kris Hughes had 21 points and Izaiah Manuel 15 for the Braves, who also got 14 points apiece from Kaleb Kanipe and Gabe Mayes.
Landon Pace had his third-straight big game for Dawson with 33 points. The senior guard is averaging 36 points a night for the Panthers.
Logan McKnight added 12 points and Austin Skinner added 10 for Dawson.
