Another area basketball program is putting its season on pause due to COVID-19 protocols. The Christian County School District announced Friday afternoon that the Hopkinsville High School boys basketball team would be shutting down until Tuesday, February 16 due to virus protocols.
The Tigers, along with the other winter sports teams in the Christian County Public Schools, had the initial start of their seasons delayed until January 18th. The Hopkinsville boys’ team was able to get in four games, going 2-2, before this latest stoppage.
According to the KHSAA site, Hopkinsville will either cancel, or postpone games against Dawson Springs, Warren Central, Muhlenberg County, South Warren, Christian County (2), Crittenden County, Lyon County, and Henderson County.
At this point, it appears the Tigers are scheduled to return to play on February 19th against Barren County. Additionally, the games against Christian County have been reset for February 20 and March 6.
